Cadbury meets Oreo

Cadbury have been using their Facebook page to advertise their new range of Oreo chocolate blocks. They have used emojis to give Oreo and Cadbury their own personas and have introduced this new product as a newly formed friendship of the two brands. The image above is from Cadbury Dairy Milk's facebook page displaying how Oreo and Cadbury are now officially facebook friends. They made the two brands appear as though they are actually people becoming friends on facebook. I really like how they have done this and i think it is quite a clever and funny way to connect to their target audience through the use of social media.

Be More Fanta! Campaign

The link below is a short article on Coca Cola's new social media marketing campaign for Fanta that launched early this year. The campaign is very much like #Sayitwithpepsi with the use of their 'selfie cans' and new slogan 'be more Fanta', as well as incorporating trending words and phrases, like: On point and Bae on their packaging.

Pepsi have created a series of TV ads for their #sayitwithpepsi campaign. Each ad uses a different emoji and connects to the audience through the personable actions of the pepsimojis, like the above video.

#SayitwithPepsi

Earlier this year Pepsi launched a new world wide social media campaign: #Sayitwithpepsi. The campaign uses "PepsiMojis" that have been designed specifically for this Pepsi campaign. Hundreds of "PepsiMojis" were created by the PepsiCo Design & Innovation center to be used globally as well as locally. The "PepsiMojis" are featured on the front of pepsi bottles and cans and are sometimes accompanied with the hashtag #sayitwithpepsi.

The idea of the campaign is quite clearly about encouraging customers to share a photo with their pepsi drink with the hashtag #sayitwithpepsi as this will help Pepsi increase their social media presence and create a new hashtag trend that gets people talking about the product. The campaign launched in Australia in March of this year.

^ above is just some of the pepsimojis that have been created. Every design uses Pepsi's circle globe shape as well as their brand colours: blue, red and white. From this they have created their own "universal language system".

Welcome to my Blog!

So i am completely new at this blog thing, so lets see how i go..

Welcome to my blog :)

My blog will be about the use of social media as a form of marketing with a main focus on how Instagram and hashtags are being used as marketing tools. I aim to look at a range of different businesses and research how they market via instagram and with the use of hashtags. Instagram has become an extremely relevant and important platform for marketing and the number of businesses using the app is rapidly growing, which is why i have chosen to research more into it.
